Apply TodayRegardless of small businesses that have already taken out a PPP, the ERTC credit through the CARES Act can be claimed against 50 percent of qualified wages paid, up to $10,000 per employee annually for wages paid between March 13 and December 31, 2020.
Employers who quality for the year 2021 regardless of those that have already taken out a PPP can claim a credit against 70% of the qualified wages paid. Additionally, the wages that qualify for the credits are increased to $10,000 per employee per quarter.
For 2021 tax year claims, the credit remains at 70% of qualified wages up to $10,000 limit per quarter meaning a maximum of $7,000 per employee per quarter. The employer for this year can claim $7,000 per quarter per employee for the first three quarters. Also, with the Recovery Startup Businesses program, employers may be eligible to take a credit of up to $50,000 for the third and fourth quarters in addition to the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021.
